Ronald Chase, author
Neuroscientist and author of books on psychiatry
Neuroscience and psychiatry are inextricably linked. Despite the insistence by some that psychiatry is about “mental health”, it is the brain gone wrong that is the subject matter of psychiatry. It is the brain, after all, that creates the mind. My brother had schizophrenia. In trying to comprehend what had happened, I spent more than 50 years learning how the brain works, mostly while teaching neuroscience at McGill University in Montréal. Now that I am retired, I apply that knowledge and that concern to writing books about psychiatry.
